Hipmunk Travel Search app good for
I find this app user friendly and great for planning travel. When will you include hotels in the app :-) ?
Really enjoy the app. I travel a lot, and the new hotel feature is just super efficient.
Definitely recommend this new version, which puts in your pocket the power of the website!
Does exactly what I want. Doesnt have 100% of the airlines but thats not a real short coming.
Works fine, gives a good overview. I tried the routes I fly frequently and they all showed fine.
I like the style.
One suggestion: allow already on the first page of results to adjust the departure and arrival times filter for the return flight as well. Otherwise I have to go back and forth to find a cheap flight with good return times
Just used it to plan complicated trip through Africa and was amazed at the ease of use and to find even the best domestic flight links with no hassle. Like the fact that flights are ranked in terms of convenience+cost combination. Great also the visualization feature. Would be cool if one could forward selected flight link to a 3rd party. Maybe it is possible and I have not discovered it yet because you have thought of everything.
Some bad moments
New design moves further away from intuitiveness
1. Once youve entered a search string, you cant go back to adjust criteria
2. Opening a new tab - used to automatically fill in with your last search term, but now you need to enter everything from scratch.
I miss the older, simpler Hipmunk.
I downloaded the Hipmunk app because I had heard good things about it, but Im very disappointed...I cant search for multi-destination flights, and it wont allow me to broaden my search criteria +/-3 days of departure. Not the greatest app, and they will have to improve these things if they truly want to be competitive in this market!
I actually used this app to book a hotel. Receipt came to 87$ credit card statement showed I was charged 98$. When inquired was told it was a registration fee. Cancelled the registration and was only refunded 93$. When called again was told it was because I was being charged in USD and that the whole US dollar amount was being refunded. I was never told the total listed was in USD and Im still out 5$. Awful app. Worst customer service
Nothing happens and feel lost after selecting both legs. Theres room for improvement on basic stuff.
DO NOT BOOK TRIPS USING HIPMUNK! I booked my honeymoon at a hotel in Jamaica using hipmunk. When my husband and I showed up at the hotel, they did not have our reservation. We soon discovered that our reservation had been sent by Hipmunk to the wrong hotel. So I called Hipmunk and told them what needed to be done to fix the problem based on instructions from the hotel staff but they refused to follow the instructions and insisted they go about doing things in their own way. This problem started at about 10am on Wednesday and it is now about 9am on Thursday, the issue is still not resolved. My husband, hotel staff members, and I were placed on 20-45 minute holds and one employee at Hipmunk named Mary deliberately hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor repeatedly. Another employee named Lia told a hotel staff member that my husband and I should just accept the reservation at the other hotel. Tony who is supposedly a supervisor told me that there was absolutely not ONE incoming phone line at Hipmunk so there was no way to contact a supervisor directly. He also claimed that he did not know the name of the supervisor who would be in this morning. Mary told me that they were unable to make accommodations for us last night because the hotel we should be staying at is full. As she was saying this I was standing with two staff members from the hotel who laughed and said they certainly had rooms available. They just needed Hipmunk to send the correct reservation to their head office. Almost 24 hours and this company has yet to do this. We were left completely left stranded by this company in a country that we dont know. What if we had kids? Its bad enough this happened to the two of us but what if we had children? They have not made any attempt to accommodate us or to compensate us for the day we lost from our honeymoon. This is a horrible company and I urge you not to risk your safety and well being by booking with them.
This app has great rates but they are in US dollars, even when they dont specify. I booked my flight with Hipmunk only to find I was charged an extra $30 on my credit card due to the fact it was in USD even when I was booked with a Canadian airline. I will not be using Hipmunk again. Book directly with the hotel/airline and it will save you money!
